Idea Architects was tasked with the conversion of a former automobile brake shop into a new gourmet coffee shop. the clients wanted to re-develop the building and retain the character of the former auto shop, which included replacing the overhead doors, and leaving as much of the original building exposed as possible.
This included retaining the original exposed wood and steel roof structure, and concrete block exterior walls. We worked with Blueprint Coffee to develop a code compliant design which included a 66 sf ADA toilet room addition on the rear of the building.
